Hallow Village Community Group Events

HARTS  Hallow Arts Group  - Thursday 12th September, 10.30 p.m. 

in Park Heath where there are excellent facilities.  This session is all about sketching, so bring along your pencils and pads if you have them.   The next session on Thursday the 26th will be on fused glass, but for this you will need to book.  The group is sponsored by Hallow Village Community Group and one of our committee members Liz Heaven very ably heads up the group.  Please book sessions that interest you with her on lizheaven@gmail.com and she will give you more details as required.

HVCG Community Breakfast – Saturday 21st September – 9.30 – 11.30 a.m. Hallow Parish Hall   

Come along and enjoy a hearty breakfast in a friendly atmosphere, all ages welcome, there’s a good choice on the menu including veggie options. Adults are £8, children under 12 £4. Please book your place by email with Ann Bowlcott on annbowlcott@talktalk.net or telephone her on 01905 640980.

60s and 70s Disco Party – Friday 18th October 8.00 – 11.00 p.m.  Hallow Parish Hall.  

We have managed to book the best DJ in the Midlands, Ed Steelefox, some of  you will have heard of him and will know what an experience it is just watching him entertain. If you don’t want to dance that’s fine, just come along and listen to the great music of these decades. So, whatever your age come and join in the fun, it’s just £10 a ticket which includes free filled rolls and table snacks.  This is being sent early so you have time to grow your hair and dig out those 60s outfits!

Dates of Events From Other Local Organisations

SATURDAY 14th SEPTEMBER, 2 p.m. HALLOW HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY'S ANNUAL AUTUMN SHOW  in the Parish Hall.  

There will be exhibits of vegetables, fruit, plants and flowers, floral art, photography and cookery.  Entry to the hall is free and there will also be a display of art work and creative writing by the children from Hallow School, refreshments and home-made cakes and a raffle.  Entries for the Classes are welcome from local residents of all ages.   A copy of the Schedule and Entry Form is available on the HHS website  www.hallowgardeners.co.uk together with some helpful hints and tips for entrants.

Annual Rake & Stick Picking. Saturday 28th September Old Church Yard

your support would be very welcome any time between 10.00am to 1.00pm    The Old Church Yard has been strimmed and is now ready for light ground work to ensure we have the very best natural fauna and flora for our benefit and our wild life going forward. We have some leaf rakes and ‘grabbers’ but if you have a leaf rake please bring it along. Also if you are not feeling flexible a ‘ helping hand’ would be idea to move smaller sticks. Children are very welcome, under supervision, to build stick piles for our bugs. Please do support this community asset. Any questions call David Thorpe 01905 641349.

Monday Mornings - HALLOW BABY AND TODDLER GROUP - 10.00 a.m. - noon 

Mums, Dads, grandparents, babies and toddlers are all welcome to come along and chat to other mums over a cup of tea/coffee and biscuits. 

PARKHEATH SOCIAL CLUB, Heath Close

(last turning on the right going North out of Hallow) Held every Wednesday 2 - 4 p.m. There is a warm welcome to all seniors, they have quizzes, bingo, entertainment and refreshments, so why not go along. Contact Jean Gosling on 01905 640819 for further details.
